Shared with the Sheffield Gardeners by Lee Buttala and Dewey Hall.
Dewey Hall’s Garden-Makers Talks continue with landscape designer and writer Dean Riddle, in conversation with Lee Buttala, about creating gardens that reflect their setting and the personalities of those who make them.
Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 4 p.m.
Dewey Hall, 91 Main Street, Sheffield, MA 01257
Suggested donation: $25 · Light refreshments follow.
Drawing on his experience designing gardens in the Catskills, Hudson Valley, and beyond, Dean will share photographs and discuss the importance of place, materials, and simplicity in landscape design. The talk offers ideas for creating a garden that feels personal and connected to its surroundings.
All proceeds benefit the Dewey Hall Garden Fund, supporting plans for an Arts-and-Crafts-inspired garden behind the historic Hall, including a landscaped terrace and accessible entry.
